This notice explains what personal data Navid AI collects on navid.sa, including Navid Playground at navid.sa/playground/, and through the Navid Insights newsletter, why we collect it, how long we keep it and how you can control it.
Who we are
Navid AI ("Navid", "we", "us") is an artificial intelligence company based in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. We are responsible for the personal data described in this notice. If you have any question about it, email us at info@navid.sa.
What we collect
- Contact form. When you send us an enquiry, we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number and message. If you tick "Send me Navid AI updates: new Yehia releases, benchmark results and Navid Insights, our weekly briefing.", we also record that choice, the time you made it, the wording you agreed to and whether your sign-up reached our newsletter service.
- Navid Insights newsletter. When you sign up, we collect your email address, your preferred language (English or Arabic) and where you signed up, for example the website footer, the Insights page, the contact form or Navid Playground. We also keep the wording you agreed to and the times you signed up and confirmed.
- Navid Playground. Navid Playground at navid.sa/playground/ is a separate application, and our website passes your requests to it. When you use it, it processes your account details and the conversations you have with our models, and it sends your messages to the servers that run our models so that they can reply. When you sign in, it sets a session cookie on navid.sa that keeps you signed in.
- Newsletter emails. Our emails record when an issue is opened and which links in it are clicked, so we can see which topics readers find useful.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our servers record basic technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use them to keep the site running and secure.
- reCAPTCHA. Our contact and sign-up forms use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to tell people apart from automated spam. It collects information about your device and how you use the page and sends it to Google. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that information.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry. We use your contact form details to answer you and to keep a record of our conversation. We rely on your request to us and on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To send Navid AI updates, only with your consent. These are emails about new Yehia releases, benchmark results and Navid Insights, our weekly briefing, at most one a week. Signing up is always optional. We use double opt-in: after you sign up, we send one email asking you to confirm, and we send no issues until you click the link in it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing.
- To provide Navid Playground. We use your Playground account details and conversations to provide the service you signed in to use. We rely on your request to use it.
- To protect the site. We use server logs and reCAPTCHA to prevent spam, abuse and attacks. This is in our legitimate interest and in yours.
We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
- Contact form enquiries: we delete them from our website's records 24 months after we receive them. Our team also receives a copy of each enquiry by email, and we delete those copies on the same schedule.
- Newsletter subscriptions: for as long as you stay subscribed. Records of the emails we sent you, and of opens and clicks, are kept for up to 24 months.
- Unconfirmed sign-ups: if you do not click the confirmation link, we delete your sign-up after 7 days.
- After you unsubscribe: within 30 days we delete your email address and keep only a hashed suppression marker. This is a one-way code that lets us recognise the address so that we never email it again by mistake. It cannot be turned back into your address.
- Server logs: no longer than 24 months.
Where your data is processed
This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Navid Playground runs on Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt, Germany. The Navid Insights newsletter runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States, which stores the subscriber list and sends the emails. Contact form messages reach our team by email through Google's email service, and Google also provides reCAPTCHA. This means that some of your data is processed outside Saudi Arabia. We share your data with these providers only so that they can provide their services to us.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. On navid.sa:
- the contact form sets a security cookie (csrftoken) that protects it against forged requests;
- Navid Playground sets a session cookie when you sign in, to keep you signed in;
- Google reCAPTCHA can set its own cookies on pages with a form that uses it;
- the map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps, which can set its own cookies.
Your rights
Under Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), you have the right to:
- be told how we handle your personal data, which is what this notice does;
- access your personal data and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete data that we no longer need;
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from Navid Insights.
To use any of these rights, email info@navid.sa from the address concerned, or tell us how to reach you. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA).
Unsubscribing
Every Navid Insights email has an unsubscribe link. One click removes you from the list, and you will receive no further issues. You can also email info@navid.sa and ask us to remove you.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our practices change and show the new date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your newsletter email address, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
